    Notes
    1.
This letter lacks an address, but Prior's letter to Bolingbroke of the same date (1712.0920.Fa) confirms that it is the letter to Dartmouth Prior mentioned to Bolingbroke.
    2.
The initial n is only half formed.
    3.
The paper on which Prior wrote this letter was originally a single sheet folded in half, with the text on folio 1r and the endorsement on folio 2v. Folios 1v and 2r were blank. For mounting purposes, the sheet was cut in half with the sides bearing text rejoined blank side down one under the other, so that now all text appears on the page numbered 160 with 160v blank.
