    of Renunciation, wch I ſend you open
    that you may ſee it, & ſeale it up again
    when you have done with it; & if you
    Can find a ſafe way to ſend the other
    Pacquet to our Plenipotentiarys, at
    utrecht; Pray do that he may get ſooner
    into England, I am quite tired ſo God

    The dateline is on the lower left of the page after the close and before the postscript. A later, probably archivist's, hand entered the year date 1712 in pencil in square brackets.

    The items enclosed with this letter are preserved with it in ADD 70358 (formerly Loan 29/168). They are a newsletter (dated 21 Nov. 1712 NS and attached to the letter itself with a metal clip), the Act of Renunciation passed by the King of Spain, and a speech made on the occasion of that act's being signed. Both the second and third documents also bear metal clips.

    The endorsement identifies the letter's sender and confirms the year date. The salutation identifies the recipient.
